An installation around my ongoing project, Understanding Mother
This is the first time any of the images from this project will be seen publicly. New photographs and other paraphernalia can be explored through the window at Vintiners Framers Crouch End!
The shop is open 9.30am - 5pm Monday to Saturday, and I’ll be there personally, multiple times. Let me know if you plan to visit, and we may be able to meet up.
This year Photo Month has broadened its photography festival to include the whole of London! Throughout October, people will be able to visit tens of exhibitions and events. I will be showing some work-in-progress again this year. This time it will be from my Understanding Mother series, which is an exploration into the lifespan of a female, with my own Mum as the main protagonist.

Amanda is very active in the Thamesmead art-scene, and alongside her photography practice, she offers various workshops and participatory events. She has pooled together various artists to deliver a series of workshops, which can be attended as one-offs, or people can sign up for all six. Open To Ideas will run from October 2026 until January 2027, and include Cyanotype printing, Poetry, painting and forest bathing. Amanda will be facilitating two sessions herself, as outlined below…

Talking Tables is based on the concept of a Long Table discussion: a framework that allows people to join in conversations in the round. There is no hierarchical structure, and people are welcome to pose difficult questions or offer a conundrum for others to respond to. An example of a prompt might be: Keeping calm in a chaotic world: At a time when we feel overloaded with information, bombarded with doom-laden news, and aware that our environment may struggle to sustain us, how can we find the tools to stay grounded, amidst all this data?
This is an opportunity to learn from each other, and to benefit from seeing things from multiple perspectives. By discussing big ideas in simple ways, or simple ideas in big ways, we will stretch our thinking and hear other views without pressure or prejudice. There is no pressure to talk, and prompts will be offered, but participants are encouraged to arrive with their own questions and an open mind.
Refreshments will be provided, and there is an optional short movement/ yoga offering afterwards for anyone who wants to join in.
Come and see what goes on inside this iconic brutalist building in Thamesmead. Not only are there lots of artists to meet and workshops to try, but the building itself is also part of the Open Houses Festival.

Join Dr Sofia Greaves, Dr Anna Pagani, Prof. Paul Watt, Amanda Eatwell, and Marcel Baettig, founder & CEO of Bow Arts on Friday 24th October for a panel discussion as they discuss findings from research (by Dr Greaves) investigating artists' experiences of affordable housing provided by Bow Arts Charity in Thamesmead, and the impact that artists have by living and working there.

Dwellings is a current project by Amanda and will be shown in it’s first iteration as part of PhotoMonth 2025.
